Sun, heat, party and football. That’s what foreigners expect from the World Cup of 2004 in Brazil. And foreign real estate agencies have already started a race to sell houses and properties in the cities which will host the world championship.
Brazil expects about 500 thousand tourists for the Cup. The volume is bigger than the 450 thousand foreigners expected for South Africa in 2010 and a lot smaller than the Germans received in 2006, about 2 million football fans.
To motivate prospective buyers, international real estate agencies are using government investments in infrastructure and other measures as a counterpoint to the still existing fear of violence and lack of facilities and comfort. While the government is working on the investments, real estate buyers should do their thing right now, for the prices will only rise until 2014.
The website International Living suggests buying properties here in Brazil and reminds that, in South Africa, their value has already risen about 35% since 2005. The company still estimates that, during the World Cup, a house in Brazil might be rented for 10 thousand dollars per week. And, to make it even more attractive to invest immediately, it appeals: “Put Brazil and football together and one word comes to mind: sexy. Not only Brazil has the most successful team in sports, but it also has the factor that no other country can overcome: cheerleaders in bikinis”.
GEM Estates agency, which sells houses for 69,5 thousand dollars in the city of Natal, advises to invest on the coast. Samantha Gore, director of UV10 agency, also bets on the city and highlights the business opportunities in the region.
